NEIL POWERS [79BA75]

Neil Powers grew up on Karin in the nation state of Nelsonia. He did not expect to do well in university and wanted to join the workforce immediately. Neil was an active young man, an athlete in school, and quit witted and able. His social station was low, however, so the sort of job that worked for him was something more physical. Therefor he joined Thunderbird as a security agent in his early life.

Within his first year, Neil had shown great promise. The rising star was placed in undercover investigations. Among his various achievements, Neil was able to identify and stop agents from Thunderbird’s chief rival, Thyrndi Dumakair, from obtaining company secrets, making sure that Thunderbird landed the new contract for fighter production of the Coyote. Neil followed that up by assisting the noble Tabitha Perez with locating an illicit naval intelligence mole within Thunderbird, giving her the opportunity to out a conspiracy that would have both undercut the company and the growing Independence movement.

Neil caught the eye of a senior agent, Ellen Deng, and under her mentorship was able to continue his advancement within the security of Thunderbird. The two worked closely together for a number of years, and Neil was able to learn investigative skills beyond his charm and deception. However, this relationship would go south when Neil was promoted ahead of her. To this day she is a Deng, still working at Thunderbird, nursing a bitterness towards the young man she mentored.

In his final years, Neil spent much less time in the field, and more and more time involved in Thunderbird security. Here, we worked directly with Leon Greatbear, the head of Security, to provide for and manage security details for the C-Suite executives. Neil made a strong connection with Thunderbird COO, Lydia Starwolf, forming a solid professional friendship. It was Starwolf who asked Neil to assist Tupper Vilantes with her legal troubles in 1103. Neil looked into things personally and was able to prove that the missing classified cargo was not Tupper’s fault. He was unable to find the actual perpetrators, though he spent time over the next year looking. This time “in the field” as it were, helped Neil decide it was time to retire as he was headed to a desk job full time. Neil turned in his resignation to his friend, Leon Greatbear, head of Thunderbird Security, and set out for his next chapter in his life.

Looking for his next thing, Neil was delighted to receive and invite from Tupper and Tabitha to talk about crewing their newly purchased safari ship, the Solar Phoenix.
