Senior Airman (Ret)
SrA Josh Wagner began as a Pararescueman (PJ) in the U.S. Air Force, serving with distinction in Afghanistan. During a mission in February 2021, his team, OSCAR 1, was shot down. Wagner parachuted in under heavy fire but was critically injured upon landing. Despite severe wounds—including a shattered leg and head trauma—he assisted in rescuing his teammates, showing extreme valor under fire. His actions earned him the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart.
Following his injuries, Wagner was medically discharged in late 2021 after losing jump status. He attempted to rebuild a civilian life, dealing with strange visions and a persistent apparition of a glowing, armored woman. These experiences led him to a mysterious “Alienist” known only as Oscar Wednesday—an eccentric figure who revealed Wagner's brush with death as a mystical initiation, tying him to Norse myth, fate, and a secretive magical tradition.
Under Oscar’s mentorship, Wagner was inducted into the Euthanatos, learning that his near-death was a form of sacred passage. His training involved grueling rites: spirit quests, rune carving, and symbolic death-and-rebirth journeys. Eventually, Wagner gained enough mastery to repair his leg mystically and returned to a semi-functional civilian life—balancing a paramedic job, college courses, and magical responsibilities.
By 2025, a prophetic series of signs and instructions led Wagner to purchase a used car in what felt like a preordained moment. With his possessions packed into that car, he departed Valdosta for Jacksonville, entering the next chapter of his magikal life—both determined and uncertain, a soldier-mage ready for whatever came next.
