Ramiva City – Capital Habitation Complex of Ramiva

Overview

Ramiva City is the planet’s largest sealed habitation arcology, carved from the vast, abandoned Harridan Open-Cut Mine — once the crown jewel of Ling-Standard Products’ mineral extraction on Ramiva. Centuries ago, it began as an extensive open-pit operation, but as deeper and more hazardous shafts were bored into the tainted crust, surface living was abandoned entirely. Over generations, the mine became a sprawling underground city.

The flat, wind-scoured surface above the city still bears the scars of industrial extraction — slag fields, abandoned conveyors, and the skeletons of gantry cranes — now dominated by the Imperial-controlled Downport and two other key surface installations.

Surface Features

The Imperial Knight’s Residence

  • Occupant: Sir Garrent Hale Veyrin, Imperial Knight of the Third Imperium, sworn to Marquis Calvon Terik dar-Trin.
  • Function: Oversees all operations at both the Highport and the Downport, acting as Imperial steward for all port traffic and customs.
  • Description: A TL–12+ fortified dome complex with private docking pads, a dedicated fusion power feed, and full Imperial security complement. Its polished surfaces, Imperial banners, and manicured interior gardens are a stark contrast to the barren wasteland outside.
  • Reputation: Respected for efficiency but seen as detached from local life; his loyalty is to the Imperium first, Ramiva second.

The Old LSP Headquarters

  • History: Headquarters for Ling-Standard Products during the height of mining operations. When LSP pulled out, the Directorate converted the structure into its central administrative hub.
  • Current Use: Now serves as the Administrative Center for the Concord Government. Still bears the faded LSP logo under peeling Directorate-era paint.
  • Note: High Speaker Kaelen Varn Derrazi chooses to live deep underground among the people, rejecting the surface complex’s association with corporate and Directorate elitism.

Underground City

  • Location: 250–300 meters below the Harridan pit floor, accessed by maglev personnel lines and heavy freight elevators.
  • Structure:
    1. Civic Core: Central government offices, Concord Assembly, news broadcast centers, and Derrazi’s modest residence.
    2. The Midbelly: Main habitation blocks, worker commons, and market galleries. Crowded but vibrant, strung with improvised lighting and colorful cloth screens.
    3. Old Shafts: Decommissioned mine access tunnels repurposed as storage, smuggling routes, and Preservation Bloc hideaways. Poorly lit, often unpatrolled, and dangerous.
