Mnemba Smith is an Omicron agent who has crossed paths with Maria before. Twice before she has been detained by him, and both times they came up short. Maria suspects he suspects she has psionic power, but has never proved it. The time he tested her, her powers were exhausted and she did not register. They have had a friendly competition, much like Rick and Cpt. Renault in Casablanca. A movie, interestingly enough, Maria has actually seen.

Smith is a seasoned intelligence officer who once served in the Imperial Naval Intelligence Bureau, specializing in deep cover operations and counter-espionage. Recruited into Omicron after a classified mission led him to an undisclosed Ancient site, Smith was offered knowledge and resources far beyond what the Imperium allowed. Convinced that Omicron holds the key to humanity’s future, he became a devoted operative, believing the organization’s work is too important to be hindered by bureaucrats, corporations, or short-sighted governments.

He operates under the philosophy that power belongs to those who can wield it responsibly—and in his mind, that Omicron has the discipline and vision to handle the dangerous legacy of the Ancients.
