Hairline traces of dim green or blue-white light creep across the surface of the inserted bone, following channels of power invisible to mortal sight. The scrimshaw lines catch that light first, glowing softly as if the magic prefers marked and intentional things. Then the transformation begins in earnest. The bone gives a dry internal creak ... not cracking, but yielding. Its proportions begin to shift. A narrower rib thickens and flares to match the breadth of Blake’s great hobgoblin frame. A mismatched finger bone stretches and subtly reforms until it belongs where it has been placed. Hairline traces of dim green or blue-white light creep across the surface of the inserted bone, following channels of power invisible to mortal sight.  The process is not one of fleshly growth, but of imposed identity. Blake’s animating necromancy carries within it the pattern of what he is supposed to be ... seven feet of brutal hobgoblin stature, war-forged proportions, dense bones built for weight and force. Any new piece introduced into that pattern is gradually forced to conform. Edges smooth where they were wrong. Curves sharpen or flatten. Thickness gathers where strength is needed. It is less like healing and more like being claimed. The process is not one of fleshly growth, but of imposed identity.
