Tupper Vilantes grew up on the agricultural world of Ochecate in the Five Sisters Subsector. Her father was a trader and helped her land a scholarship to the Merchant Academy of Theo, the capital of Roosevelt on Karin. It was here she first got involved in the Karin Independence political movement. Though she did not become a major figure, Tupper was drawn to the idea of a world free for self-determination as her own world was ruled directly by the subsector capitol, Iderati. She graduated with honors and was immediately hired as a crew member on the Far Trader Raum Zauberstab, under the Captain and owner, Marsha Voigt.
Life aboard the Raum Zauberstab was as exciting as she hoped. Tupper learned to get along with the crew and learned the ins and outs of the ship. Over the course of this time, Tupper advanced in rank. She kept in contact with her old political movement and developed a professional relationship with Esther Zhong still in the movement. Zhong would later go on to become one of the first Senators of the United Karin Confederation’s upper chamber.
Over the next several years, Tupper stayed engaged in both being a crew aboard a Far Trader and the political movement. This included Her time away for advanced education involved more time in helping the movement than leaning a new skill. In 1097, Tupper first met and made friends with the noble Tabitha Perez, just elected to the Second Planetary Congress and some of her other supporters. This included Lydia Starwolf, an executive within Thunderbird supporting the cause. This time also gave Tupper the chance to form an unlikely friendship with the Aslan Amarr Kurrn. Kurrn was a marine seriously injured in an assault on terrorists gone bad. Tupper befriended Kurrn as Raum Zauberstab transported him from Mirriam to Karin. The two formed a solid connection in the two weeks of travel.
In 1103, Tupper was caught up in accusations around stolen classified naval cargo. While her captain and crewmates believed her, there was significant circumstantial evidence pointing to Tupper. Tupper reached out to Starwolf, now the COO of Thunderbird, for assistance, and it was only through his brining in Neil with evidence, that Tupper barley go off.
Thanks to the notoriety of the trial, the months following the trial were difficult. She agreed with her captain it was time to leave Raum Zauberstab, and so she agreed to cash out her shares. She contacted her old friend Tabitha, who was leaving politics, and together they purchased a recently refurbished Safari Ship, the Solar Phoenix. With it, they hope to move on to the next chapter in their lives.
