A desperate, hardscrabble little village situated in a gentle valley, New Towne is less than a decade old and struggling to continue on. When most of the residents of Jambis abandoned their town and their baron, 60 or so fled to the southeast, eventually settling in what seemed like a good area for farming. Like most of the Tandak prefecture, however, the soil in this region is overworked and poor quality, and with the limited supply of seed, tools, and livestock they brought with them, the town has yet to produce enough on its own to eat. Resources grew increasingly lean every season as the locals overhunted the surrounding area just to survive. Most residents still lived in the same ramshackle timber and-canvas homes they erected their first year when the site was abandoned and the residents for a return to Jambis after its liberation by the heroes.
